As part of this year’s Record Store Day festivities, a number of our frontline turntables are up to 20% off — including the limited edition PrecisionDeck, a spectacular collaboration with Mobile Fidelity and Fender. This piece is a true tribute to some of the most iconic names in the music industry, like Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, and Jeff Beck, while still being a high-performance turntable in every aspect. Only 1,000 units were manufactured and each model is individually numbered and badged, making the PrecisionDeck a collector’s item in addition to a functional record player.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the key features of the PrecisionDeck:
The defining feature of the PrecisionDeck is the iconic tricolour sunburst finish. Developed by Fender in the 1950s, the famous pattern is found on all of their classic lines, such as the Precision Bass, Stratocaster, and Telecaster guitars. Always hand-painted by Fender, the urethane finish offers exceptional durability and a timeless look.
Looking to the motor, the PrecisionDeck boasts an isolated AC synchronous motor providing speed stability for pitch accuracy and rhythmic drive. As with all standard turntables, the Delrin pulley has two positions for 45 and 33 1/3 RPM settings. Advanced dampening materials help to decouple the motor from the platter and stylus to reduce vibrations and maintain stability. These design principles that MoFi is well known for extend into the 10-inch Ultra tonearm. The straight aluminium gimbaled bearing design ensures rigidity, precision, and accuracy in playback. With smooth, high quality ball bearings for low friction, you’ll only hear what’s in the grooves. For those who like to make adjustments, the Ultra tonearm offers adjustable tracking force, VTA, azimuth, and enhanced anti-skate. Signal purity is maintained with Cardas Audio wiring and gold-plated RCA connectors.
Mobile Fidelity did not hold back with this turntable; a hardened-steel inverted bearing system provides quiet and smooth rotational stability that will last for years thanks to the low tolerance combination of bronze, steel, and sapphire. To top it all off, the PrecisionDeck has a 1.3-inch Delrin platter with increased mass for blacker sonic backgrounds and a low noise floor. Developed by Dupont, Delrin is a next-gen polymer with a highly crystalline structure for a spectacular impedance match to vinyl records that effectively grounds unwanted noise and keeps it away from the stylus. The PrecisionDeck is also fitted with anti-vibration feet from Harmonic Resolution Systems, an industry leader in audio vibration isolation.
The default cartridge for the PrecisionDeck is a MoFi MasterTracker, featuring a V-Twin dual-magnet generator designed to accurately extract music from your LPs with stellar tracking ability. You can of course swap it out for your cartridge of choice, but the MasterTracker offers nothing short of microscopic precision.
There are few better ways to celebrate Record Store Day 2024 than with this unique turntable, and they won’t be around for long. We only have two of these models available as of today, so grab one while you can.
