Listening Care intelligently optimises audio frequencies to assist your long-term listening health.
When listening volume is low (sound pressure is low), comparable high pressure is required at both the low and high frequencies for a balanced and easily audible audio signal. Simply, this means that louder volume is necessary to hear both the low and high frequencies. However Yamaha has developed a different approach to this issue.
Drawing on enormous experience in working with professional sound design in a variety of large spaces, Yamaha developed YPAO Volume for their home theatre products. YPAO Volume has now been custom-tuned for Yamaha’s headphones and earphones, including proprietary tuning parameters that go beyond EQ adjustment. Adjustments are made, adaptive to the volume level, for fine-tuning and balance even in low-volume settings, eliminating the need to turn the music louder to hear all high and low frequencies.
Use your voice not your hands. Voice assistants such as Siri and Google Assistant are available with a single touch on the headphone/earphone. Hands-free calling is possible by operating the buttons on the main unit.

However blocking out the world may mean blocking important noises, such as an ambulance siren, a car horn or public transport announcements. Yamaha’s Ambient Sound function uses the built-in microphone to capture these external sounds, presenting them in the background while listening to your chosen audio, keeping you fully aware of your surroundings.

Yamaha’s Active Noise Cancelling technology captures external sounds via the built-in microphone and a signal with electrically opposite phase to the sound is added to cancel this noise, providing a more pure listening experience.
Line-In allows for a cabled connection to your source device, this can be utilized even when the headphone power is off.
The swivel of the Headphones allows for easier fit inside a travel bag taking up less room, and is more comfortable when wearing around your neck.
