Audio-Technica Belt Drive Turntable

Which is the right turntable for me? Glad you asked! Both Audio-Technica turntables are great choices with the AT-LP3XBT incorporating features which would benefit a beginner or more casual listener, while the AT-LPW40WNs features are more aimed at the more confident, serious listener.

Here's how a few of the main differences stack up:

Automatic vs manual operation: The AT-LP3XBT features an automatic features which can start and stop the record playing, ncluding operating the tonearm at the push of a button. This is great for beginners or those who may not have the confidence to manually place and lift the tonearm and cartridge on/off the record.

Bluetooth convenience option: In addition to traditional outputs, the AT-LP3XBT features the ability to send the audio out via a bluetooth signal to other devices that support bluetooth audio. While this feature can be handy, most users playing vinyl records will prefer a traditional analogue connection, the AT-LPW40WN is more focused on this traditional output method.

Cartridge & finish: The AT-LPW40WN features an eliptical diamond tip stylus which can capture more fine detail from the record groove, whereas the AT-LP3XBT uses a simpler round conical shaped stylus, a great all-rounder but with a lightly less definned sound than an elliptical. For the finish of both turntables, AT-LPW40WN features a simulated walnut finish, while the AT-LP3XBT features a more simple flat black look.
