Allows you to extend a VGA signal and a stereo audio signal through the wall or ceiling by using CAT6 network cables.
VGA (and Audio) Extender Kit
This extender kit allows you to extend a VGA video signal (eg: for a PC monitor) and a stereo audio signal (eg: for PC speakers) through the wall or ceiling via CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 LAN network cable.
How Does It Work?
Simply plug your VGA cable and 3.5mm audio cable between your source device (eg: PC) and the "input" wall plate, then join the two wallplates with a standard network cable (eg: CAT5 or CAT6). The "input" wall plate converts the signals to a form which can travel further distances, then sends the signal along the network cable to the "output" wall plate, which converts the signal back again, so you can simply plug your VGA cable and 3.5mm audio between the wallplate and your equipment at the other end (eg: PC monitor screen and speakers).
- 1 x Wallplate which converts VGA and stereo audio to CAT5/CAT6
- 1 x Wallplate which converts CAT5/CAT6 back to VGA and stereo audio
Note: This kit does not include network cables, VGA cables or stereo audio cables. These are available separately.
How Far Can It Extend?
If using CAT5 cable, you can achieve the following distances:
- 640x480 pixels (VGA) - 120 metres
- 800x600 pixels (SVGA) - 100 metres
- 1024x768 pixels (XGA) - 75 metres
- 1280x1024 pixels (SXGA) - 60 metres
