The Kaleidescape Strato C is a 4K Ultra HD movie player that supports high dynamic range (HDR) and lossless multichannel audio including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, and DTS-HD Master Audio.

Lossless Audio

Strato movie players provide lossless audio, maximising sound quality with a range of downstream components. Strato supports multichannel and spatial audio codecs including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, and DTS-HD Master Audio.

Kaleidescape's lossless audio makes your processor, amplifiers, and speakers sound the way the director intended. The dialogue is clearer, and every subtle sound and rumble draws you deeper into the story.

Downloaded, Not Streamed

Movie bitrates up to 100 Mbps. Kaleidescape movies are high bitrate and downloaded to local storage* for uninterrupted, flawless playback. There is never buffering or degradation, unlike streaming services that are limited by internet infrastructure. Kaleidescape movies are also unconstrained by file size limits, enabling the Kaleidescape content team to maximise the video quality transcoded from studio mezzanine files, unlike Blu-ray discs that have a maximum file size limit.

Leading streaming services encode 4K video at an average of around 8 megabits per second. Kaleidescape’s 4K movies are encoded at an average of 65 megabits per second. While streaming platforms provide content that’s highly compressed and can vary depending on internet bandwidth, Kaleidescape movies are downloaded to a local hard drive so they play perfectly every time. The streaming video suffers from severe compression artifacts, including loss of detail and colour accuracy, and a lot of added noise.

Not only do Kaleidescape movies carry more video information, but audio reproduction is bit-for-bit lossless quality. Compared to streaming services, Kaleidescape’s higher audio bitrate ensures you will hear everything from the softest whispers to room-rattling explosions.

A Kaleidescape movie player is an investment that grows with you. Want room for more movies or players in additional rooms? Combine Strato C with Terra Prime movie servers. Any number of Strato movie players can be grouped into a system, with up to four servers per system.

Grouping with a server activates the iconic Kaleidescape covers view and list menus for navigating large movie libraries. It also unlocks Kaleidescape’s parental control settings and proprietary child remote, for a customisable family-friendly experience.
