The new Scansonic M-Series is based on technologies that originated in the world-renowned Raidho Acoustics speakers, most notably, the signature ribbon tweeter. The M-Series speakers have a solid foundation in the Nordic design tradition. Scansonic MB10 Subwoofer

Using their knowledge and expertise in designing high-end loudspeakers, Scansonic focused on making the MB10 reproduce bass in a more natural and “honest” way than normally seen in subwoofers. The class A/B amplifier, in place of the commonly used Class D, plays a key role in the MB10’s natural and dynamic performance. This, combined with a low mass 10” woofer, and an enclosure tuned to match the woofer, means the sub doesn’t use any frequency equalization circuits. The result is a subwoofer that sounds articulate and refined without any booming - blending effortlessly into this high-quality speaker system while at the same time possessing the ability to rattle the room when playing a movie or your favourite piece of music. The MB10 can be connected with the LFE-input, or with speaker-inputs for the receivers/amplifiers where there is no active subwoofer-output available.

Scansonic M Series

Ribbon Tweeters

The M10 features a Kapton/aluminium sandwich membrane sealed ribbon tweeter. This high-resolution tweeter promises an extremely fast, vivid and wide frequency response, allowing for an exceptionally open and detailed sound at the top end of the frequency spectrum.

It was clear to Scansonic from the very beginning, that some core techniques from the Raidho speakers would be of great importance: The speakers had to be designed around a ribbon tweeter that works with at super lightweight diaphragm that is sealed around the edges to allow for a seamless transition to the midrange region.

The ribbon tweeter has a membrane with an extremely low mass. It is formed by a Kapton-aluminum sandwich that is only 20 um thick, and the resulting mass is app. 0.03g, which is approximately 50 times less than any conventional textile, ceramic, beryllium or diamond dome. The lower mass translates directly into higher resolution and less material colouration.

Glass Fibre Cones

The unique ribbon tweeter is not the only redesigned technology present in Scansonic's new range of speakers. The new M-Series speakers feature even more agile, open and three-dimensional midrange, along with a cleaner, faster and more deeply visceral bass with a more significant punch and attack. These improvements are thanks to the refined bass and midrange drivers that feature advanced honeycomb-enforced glass-fibre cones, combined with a powerful magnet system.

About Scansonic HD

It would be impossible to introduce Scansonic without first mentioning Raidho. Having worked with Raidho speakers for more than 12 years, this Danish group of engineers and designers found themselves facing a completely new challenge when they were tasked with creating a new range of high-performance speakers for the Scansonic brand.

From the start, Scansonic's team were dedicated to building on all the experiences and strengths obtained from designing the Raidho speakers. At the same time, they also had to be aware of the long heritage and the Nordic design tradition of the Scansonic brand. The ultimate goal was to create the very best possible speakers within reasonable financial limits.

UGLY! 14 AWG Speaker Cable 50m

Our cable uses a 99.95% Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) core, in a "Fig 8" configuration and performs at the highest levels. Unlike a lot of cheaper cables this one is a legitimate 14 AWG, many cheaper cables have a very thick jacket on them which makes the cable look a lot thicker than it really is.
