HDMI switches serve the opposite purpose as an HDMI splitter. These devices allow multiple HDMI inputs to be sent to a single output or receiver. Switches are helpful if you have multiple bluray players or gaming devices, and insufficient HDMI ports on your TV, receiver, or projector. Using a switch, you can simply select the input source you want to use; many have remotes available as well. It is crucial that your HDMI switch matches the pixel quality of your current device. HDMI 1.4 is fine for most applications, but an HDMI 2.0 is recommended for a 4k display. It is also recommended to purchase extra ports than what you need, in case you purchase or use another device that will require more ports. Available HDMI switches include 2-way, 4-way, and 8-way, from Avico and OEM.
