The MM8077 is expertly crafted to meet all your high powered needs and drive even the most demanding speakers by designing the entire unit to deliver consistent and precise power wherever and however you need it.
Designed for the ultimate music and movie surround sound experience, the MM8077 7-channel power amplifier is equipped with the same amplifier technologies that are incorporated in Marantz's reference class hi-fi amplifiers, including our unique current feedback discrete power amplifier stage design, which features a high slew rate that provides a wide bandwidth for the utmost enjoyment of today’s high resolution audio formats. All output stages feature identical topology for uniform high-quality sound across all channels, and the MM8077 provides the option to choose between balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs for each channel, for maximum system configuration flexibility. High current, high bandwidth discrete power transistors can handle short term musical bursts with aplomb, even into difficult low impedance speaker loads.

The Many Faces Of ExcellenceIn practical terms, the MM8077 is ideal for a “7.1” home theatre system, whether based on a moderately powered receiver or a surround sound processor. |
Clean And Consistent PowerThe power supply features a high current toroidal power transformer along with high power (71WVDC) filter capacitors with a total 100,000µF capacitance to easily handle sharp short-term transient peaks. |
Getting ConnectedBoth single-ended RCA and balanced XLR inputs assure system compatibility regardless of your preamplifier or processor. |
Ultimate PowerhouseDesigned for the ultimate music and movie surround sound experience, the Marantz MM8077 7-channel power amplifier delivers power and detail, and is rated at 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 180 watts per channel into 6 ohms. |

Featuring our unique current feedback discrete power amp output stages that are identical for all channels, the MM8077 is equipped with multiple high current discrete power transistors that feature a high slew rate and wide operating bandwidth to extract the most detail from today’s high-resolution audio formats.
The MM8077 power amplifier produces 150 watts of high current output from each of its seven channels. This is “real world” power, too, measured across the full audio bandwidth (20 Hz – 20 kHz) at 8 ohms with 0.08% Total Harmonic Distortion. Among other attributes, this means the MM8077 is capable of long-term power delivery into low impedance speakers.
The output devices are mounted on our unique dual extruded aluminium alloy heat sink assembly, configured in a tunnel arrangement that provides both passive and active cooling. The massive heat sinks feature multiple ribbed fins that provide a large passive cooling area, and the assembly is book-ended with a whisper-quiet fan that automatically kicks in to provide near silent active cooling when the soundtrack heats up. As the fan is mounted internally directly to the heat sinks, and not externally to the chassis cover as is often the case, even when it’s running, it’s designed to be whisper quiet.
For maximum connectivity, the MM8077 features both unbalanced (RCA) and balanced (XLR) inputs, and each amp channel can be configured to use your choice of input connector. The loudspeaker terminals feature audiophile-grade construction and are gold-plated for maximum signal transfer, and they can easily handle a wide range of audiophile speaker cable connectors.
The MM8077 includes input and output jacks for DC “trigger” pulses as well as RC-5 jacks for total remote control convenience, even with legacy Marantz products.
You’ll find rear panel connections for a “flasher” input that conveys On/Off commands from an infrared (IR) remote controller. There’s a DC trigger input (and output) that lets you ”daisy chain” one or more devices to turn on and off in synchronization with your surround processor. If you’re going to use the MM8077 with legacy Marantz products, there are RC-5 connectors to give you a level of operating convenience you might not have thought possible.
The most musical sound. Founded in 1953, Marantz has a long and rich history of designing audio components embraced by music lovers and critical listeners around the world. Because Music Matters, the MM8077 carries on the long Marantz tradition of delivering a best-in-class listening experience for music and cinema.
