With the introduction of the Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) based "Linear Drive System", DALI have broken new ground in the loudspeaker industry. With the drivers manufactured in-house at DALI's Danish factory, and featuring the latest in magnet motor technology, the RUBICON 8 sets new standards for audio quality for Hi-Fi lovers around the world. The RUBICON 8 draws upon the heritage from the SMC based Linear Drive System, originally introduced in the EPICON series. With the use of the technology from the SMC drivers, DALI have taken a step closer to removing all unwanted distortion. In the RUBICON 8, DALI makes use of both the soft dome tweeter and the ribbon tweeter in a hybrid configuration, yielding an amazing rendering of the high frequencies. The voice coil used in the RUBICON 8 is designed to be very light and agile in order to achieve a broader bandwidth. This lighter voice coil is placed inside a powerful ferrite magnet that keeps a tight control of its movements. The ribbon tweeter is the master of wide dispersion, and combining it with the soft dome, the tweeter module starts working as low as 2.5 KHz. This extreme bandwidth combined with ultra wide dispersion yields a very natural sound and is an important part of the DALI sound philosophy. |

The woofer cone used in the RUBICON 8 draws upon the heritage from the EPICON technologies, and has a light, rigid and randomly uneven microstructure. This lowers sthe complexity of the central part of the motor, ensures even piston like movements, reduces the possibility of surface resonance greatly and eliminates distortion to extremely low levels within the RUBICON 8. The soft low-loss rubber surround is designed and bespoke specifically for the RUBICON 8, and all of the components are situated in an aluminum chassis designed for maximum airflow around the cone and magnet system.

With a case made of solid MDF, the RUBICON 8 is available in High-Gloss Black, Rosso and Walnut finishes and comes complete with both spike set and rubber feet, along with a polishing cloth to keep it looking as stunning as it sounds. |

The gracefully elegant exterior of the RUBICON 8 works as the base for the low-loss drivers. In every cabinet, the mid-range and bass drivers are separated into their own chambers. Turbulence is minimised through a bass reflex port placed directly behind each woofer, and the timing between the woofer and the bass port is thereby also optimised.
