4 Zone Distribution System
This multiroom kit allows you to distribute an audio visual source (such as a pay TV box (eg: Foxtel), DVD player, set top box, etc) to four different rooms. It also allows you to use remote control to control devices at the source (eg: DVD player, set top box) from each of those rooms. This system uses standard AV cables (usually colour coded red, white and yellow) and CAT5 network cable. Please note that cables are not included, but we can help you with choosing your cables.
Included In the Kit:
- 1x Distribution hub
- 1x Power adaptor
- 1x Single IR emitter
- 1x Dual IR emitter
- 4x Wall plate outlets
- 4x IR receivers
How Does It Work?
The heart of the kit is the "distribution hub", which everything else connects to. This is best placed near the source device (eg: DVD player, set top box). The distribution hub must be connected to mains power (power adaptor is included). The IR emitters are then connected to the distribution hub and positioned so that they emit the infrared signal to the appropriate place on your source devices, to pass on the remote control signal. Each of the four wallplates is then connected to the distribution hub via CAT5 network cable. The IR receivers, which you point the remote control at, are each plugged into a wall plate. The source device (eg: DVD player) can then be connected to the inputs on the distribution hub using standard AV cables, while the display devices (eg: TVs) can be connected to each wall plate, also using standard AV cables. Voila, the DVD player / set top box is connected to four TVs and can be remotely controlled from each room!
This system includes a built-in infrared extender system, which allows you to control your source devices from each of the four zones. For example, if you were using a set top box with this distribution system, you could change the channel from each of the four zones. Please note that this kit includes 4 IR receivers, so you can control from 4 rooms, but it only includes enough IR emitters to control three devices back at the source (eg: DVD player, set top box, pay TV box). However, additional emitters can be purchased separately.
Foxtel and Other Pay TV Services
Infrared extender systems often have compatibility issues with Foxtel and other pay TV services. Only the Resi-Linx brand is Foxtel approved and guaranteed to work with Foxtel. Other systems, such as this product, are often compatible with Foxtel, but can't be guaranteed. In any case, our returns policy states that you are more than welcome to return any of our products for an exchange or a full refund of the purchase price.
Some remote controls now use Bluetooth instead of infrared. Please note that Bluetooth remotes are not compatible with this system. This system only works with infrared remote controls. If you're unsure, please feel free to email or call our friendly experts.
